Nine Months

Hello baby…how are you doing…must be enjoying kicking around in my tummy. I know that you are the size of an apple and more than eleven weeks old. We are soon going to cross that crucial three months threshold. You freaked me out some days back with the bleeding episode, but now it is confirmed that I have a low lying placenta and this problem if controlled will not harm you my sweetie pie. I am on complete bed rest. Six more weeks off from work. Recently I had an intense urge to return soon to work – a mood swing I would say, but then on cooling down I found myself guilty that I should not force myself into work now. Motherhood was what I was pining for all these years. Finally that time is here. A was just speaking to a friend of mine and she said “You should be proud, you are living every girl’s dream.” How true!!

I am already feeling so special with all the attention on me though I know that these would be my last attention grabbing months before you are born. Then you would be the cynosure of all eyes. And if we are blessed with a baby girl, then even more so. Your mama wants a girl but I feel whatever it is we would be more than happy to have a healthy child! Your dad is right now taking utmost care of your mom. Everyone in the family is waiting for your arrival. Grow baby grow!!!

It is almost eight weeks now and you have grown by leaps and bounds my dear! I was so very excited to see you in the ultrasound this time. You have grown big now and the sonographer even pointed out your heartbeat. I was on the top of the world!!! I love you so much. The first ultrasound just confirmed your presence but the second one was a dream come true. Even the doc congratulated me this time. She said that now i can really congratulate you!

You are growing by leaps and bounds and you are making your every move with elan. I am feeling new symptoms everyday. I am tired throughout the day, feel nausea almost 24×7 sometimes. And dear i have to get up 2-3 times during night to go to the bathroom. I am having constant headaches also. At this time when it is advised to stay away from the medicines, i am needing the medicines most.

I am just praying to God that you grow into a healthy baby. I am not concerned whether you are a boy or girl but my only concern is good health for you!

Thank you God!!! Finally my dreams seem to be coming true. I have never been so happy in my entire life! This is a very special time for me and my hubby. We have waited seven and a half long years for this day. It was on 11th of July that it was confirmed that i am going to be a mommy! I was on the top of the world. The time was around quarter to seven in the evening when i came to know the result of my beta-HCG report. I was elated at 72.38 but quickly cally up Dr. pai to confirm. She was very happy and told me that ‘i was pregnant’. These three words were like honey in my ears. She had to in fact assure me again that i was indeed pregnant because the value was high and not borderline and blood tests are perfect. I somehow remained away from home pregnancy tests as they seemed painful. I had a gutfeel on 7th July itself that i was preggy. the symptoms have begin to show quite early. Harsha was not around when i came to know about the good news. (He was on a business trip to New York.) In the meantime on 10th i developed very peculiar symptoms. My tummy got swollen and it was painful to walk and lie down. I was concerned. Told Dr. and she suggested that i should get admitted in either Lilavati immediately. But due to non availability of room in lilavati, me and Usha maasi had to go to Opera House. Everyone was saying that it is good news as the ovaries had swollen due to hyperstimulation and this condition happens only when the lady is pregnant. Anyways i was apprehensive and waited for the beta. On 11t, they called me at Lilavati and did an ultrasound. It was decided that the beta should be done that day only. And thus 11th July 2007 became an important date in my life!!
